About a month ago Dai sent the following in an email to all of us...
Anyway, as JC Alumni, what do we prepare to do? Yes, we have asked next JC officers to make a manual for JC Alumni accounts, and send emails to every JC Alumni that we know and will know. But then, what do we prepare to do??
It's a very valid point. I'm probably the most guilty of the Alumni for not being involved with JC over the past couple of years.....but I want to change. My idea?? To set goals for us as Alumni to accomplish each year that promote growth of the organization that we all care so much about AND to promote our own professional development. I need your help........to come up with quantifiable goals for the Alumni that we can set for ourselves. Maybe you think goals for Alumni are a waste of time....but I could use some new goals... : ) Tell me how you stay involved and what your doing for your own professional development.
My thoughts: Where are all of the recent graduates of JC that are still here in the US? Are they involved with the organization and I just don't know about it? Am I the only one who feels like all the Alumni are leaving? How are we going to keep the Alumni network alive if no one is left? We need to continually grow the network. There are hundreds of organizations in LA that deal with Japanese professionals. Is there any value to joining these to expand our own networks for our own professional development? I believe the stronger our own professional networks are the more value we can provide to the students. Am I the only one who doesn't belong to one of these?

I am not sure of what I can contribute. But I can manage this blog site for you guys. Also, if you need to have any infor for IT Audit related staff, I can get it for you because I am a member of ISACA.
Anyway, the first thing that we can do is "to gather in one place like here to start communicating." (I don't mean in physically to get to eat for anything. That can work, too)
I like to use "Mixi" but the bad thing is that it is mainly in Japanese, not all can read Japanese. I could make "Toukouba - 投稿版" like Vivinavi. The bad thing is that there are so many unwanted comments that would be posted. Some of us know that in past, it happened in JC website's Toukouban. I know it is some pain involved to use this blog site, but once you know, it is farily easy to use. As this admin, it is also easy to control.
